Autonomous groups of individuals who share a common problem or concern, either directly or through their partners and families, who meet together on a voluntary basis, either in-person, by telephone or via the Internet, to fulfill a need, overcome a disability or cope with a crisis. Genders & Sexualities Alliances, or GSAs for short, are student-run organizations that unite LGBTQ+ and allied youth to build community and organize around issues impacting them in their schools and communities. GSAs have evolved beyond their traditional role to serve as safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth in middle schools and high schools, and have emerged as vehicles for deep social change related to racial, gender, and educational justice. The Transgender Resource Center provides advocacy, education, and direct services in support of transgender, gender nonconforming, nonbinary, and gender variant people and their families regardless of Disability. Services include: harm reduction services, computer labs, daily hot lunches, long-term storage facility, mailing services (to receive mail and send), case-management & adult-case managers (who assist with name changing, finding and accessing medical providers, referrals), HIV rapid testing, community conversations about safe sex and reducing STD/HIV exposure, and support groups. They also provide a community directory to find specific services.
